MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – February 4, 2014 – Kevin W. Luque has been promoted to executive chef at Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort at Kingston Resorts. Luque joined the oceanfront resort in 2008 as executive sous chef.
Luque was named the Best Seafood Chef in South Carolina in 2012. The competition and awards are part of an annual program by the Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Supply Show of the Southeast, and he competed against 19 other chefs in the seafood category to win the top prize.
Before joining Kingston Resorts, Luque was the executive sous chef at the W New Orleans and the Sheraton at Woodbridge Place in New Jersey.
Every December, Luque and others on the Kingston Resorts’ food and beverage team participate with Feed a Family, a non-profit organization that feeds local families during the holiday season. The Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort team prepares the 500 turkey dinners that are delivered to families in time for Christmas.
Luque attended Middlesex County College in New Jersey and received an associate degree in hotel restaurant management.
