Construction crews are gearing up for a busy holiday season as plans for an extreme makeover get ready to launch this November at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort. The hotel will close for guests and open for construction crews from November 28 to January 4.
Sep 2006: Kingston Plantation’s Golf Tournament Nets $10,000
Kingston Plantation’s 6th Annual Golf Challenge was held Sept. 13, at Arcadian Shores Golf Club. A $10,000 check was presented to Ed Jones, executive director of the Horry County Children’s Shelter. Over the six years the tournament has been held, $55,000 has been donated to the shelter to assist with operations.

Last year, the Golf Challenge raised $11,000 for the shelter. This year, the goal is $15,000.

Major renovations are currently underway at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort. The total project costs are estimated at $14.7 million. The biggest portion of the project is construction of a new 12,500 conference center, which will be available for bookings in January 2008.
