We believe this attitude and commitment make a difference every day of the year.

Kingston Plantation and Kingston Shores resorts are proud to be part of the “Green” hotel properties that have instituted programs to save energy and water and reduce solid waste. These earth-friendly initiatives are part of our commitment to reuse, reduce and recycle whenever possible.

• Energy-efficient technologies and conservation practices for lighting, heating, ventilation,
  air conditioning, food service appliances, office equipment and transportation
• Improving operational practices to prevent pollution
• Reclaiming water from ponds for irrigation and other water conservation practices
• Recycling glass, plastic, metal, cardboard, paper, grease, ink and toner, oil and antifreeze
• Training employees on environmental policy and procedures
• Using renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, and geothermal power when possible
• Converting to hybrid vehicles and electric golf carts
• Purchasing food from local and regional vendors when possible
• Using food pulper to compress food wastes, which are recycled into animal feed and fertilizer
