MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – April 8, 2014 – Thomas Hiestand, CEC, has joined Kingston Resorts as executive chef at Kingston Plantation.
Originally from Chicago, American-born Executive Chef Thomas Hiestand has joined Kingston Resorts after working with some of the world’s best brands including Hilton Worldwide, Hyatt, Radisson and The Drake Hotel. He has also served as the executive chef at the prestigious Naperville Country Club and The Herrington Inn & Spa.
Hiestand received training and a Certified Executive Chef (CEC) recognition from the American Culinary Federation. He has served on the board of directors for the American Culinary Federation Chicago Chefs and also was a culinary educator at the College of DuPage.
Chef Hiestand’s culinary philosophy and passion reflect the growing trend toward a healthier and down-to-earth lifestyle. He works with the finest regional ingredients, and his preference is to allow the natural flavors of food define the meal.
When not under the toque, Hiestand is an avid runner and has competed in numerous road races and marathons. He is also a motorcycle enthusiast and outdoorsman.
