Kingston Plantation Named In Top 10 Waterpark Resorts

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – (October 2007) – Kingston Plantation was recently selected as number 5 in the Top 10 Waterpark Resorts in the United States by Waterpark Resorts Today magazine.

The magazine is the only publication of its kind that focuses on the management, design and development of waterparks. Its annual list of the Top 10 Waterpark Resorts selects resorts based on revenue and attendance.

Kingston Plantation’s SPLASH! is a Caribbean-styled family water playground complete with water slides, lazy river, water spouts, arch jets, rope showers, pipe falls, a tunnel, bucket conveyors and multi-person water pumps and water screws. The waterpark was added to the resort in 2000. The highlight of the waterpark is a six-foot bucket, which gradually fills with water until it tilts onto a roof and showers hundreds of gallons of waters of sparkling water at regular intervals.

“We’re proud to be included in this prestigious list, says Bob Barenberg, area vice president for Embassy Suites. “Our waterpark provides a fun family activity that everyone can enjoy.”

Kingston Plantation is owned by FelCor Lodging Trust, Inc. Accommodation choices on the 145-acre oceanfront resort include Embassy Suites, luxury condominiums, villas and townhouses. Kingston Plantation and its adjoining property, Kingston Shores, are among the largest and most comprehensive oceanfront resorts on the East Coast. Guests enjoy access to recreational facilities including a 50,000 square-foot Sport & Health Club with indoor and outdoor pools, nine lit tennis courts, pro shop and state-of-the-art fitness equipment; Splash!, an oceanfront waterpark and lazy river; Par-72 Rees Jones- designed Arcadian Shores Golf Course; and a host of seasonal activities for adults and children.
